Scream Queen Unleashed: Comic-Con Heats Up With Creep Van Clips Featuring Angelina Armani
Los Angeles / San Diego, CA (July 23, 2010) – Considered the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world, Comic-Con International is currently hosting exciting behind-the-scenes glimpses of 2010’s hottest properties in the fields of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. These exciting previews will take a turn for the seductive tomorrow, Saturday evening, July 24th, as a pair of clips from the upcoming independent horror film Creep Van are screened – including one featuring 2010 AVN Best New Starlet nominee and crossover star Angelina Armani – as part of the night’s “Troma, Troma, Troma” panel.
Room 8 of the San Diego Convention Center will be the place to be tomorrow evening at 8:00pm as a pair of clips from the film, which focuses on the exploits of a deranged killer in a filthy 1970s van, are shown. In addition to the screenings, there will be a lively panel discussion featuring Troma Films kingpin Lloyd Kaufman (’The Toxic Avenger’), James Gunn (’Slither’), Adam Rifkin (’The Dark Backwards’), Darren Bousman (’Mother’s Day’), ‘Dennis Dreith (’Gag’) and more.
A throwback to the grindhouse films of yesteryear, Creep Van tells the story of Campbell Jackman, an overqualified, struggling, carless kid who responds to a “For Sale” ad for a van. His seemingly hum-drum life soon turns into a nightmare as the creepy van’s owner stalks and then pursues Campbell…and everyone around him. Biting wit and stunning “old school” special effects make Creep Van an effective and successful ode to the 1970’s horror genre.
For her part, Ms. Armani is more than a little pleased with project – and with the genre in general. “It’s overwhelming to be finally crossing over to the horror world. I’ve been a horror junkie since I was a little girl. I have learned so much and I’m thankful to be working with talented individuals. And there is no better place to be promoting this movie than at Comic Con with 400,000 fans roaming the floor!”
